E1 with home assistant and no Aqara hub

Is it possible to pair the E1 radiator thermostats with a zigbee or matter radio instead of connecting via the hub? I wouldn’t mind slimming down the number and of hubs currently in my mini rack!

Yes. I have my E1 connected to Zigbee2MQTT which then connects to Home assistant.

I’m currently sticking with Zigbee for as many devices as possible, as it works perfectly for my needs. Need to ensure you have powered devices to use as routers.
