The world of smart home technology never ceases to amaze me! From simple automation to creating festive ambiance, it’s incredible how these devices enhance our daily lives. I wanted to share a couple of experiences that have been on my mind lately.
First, I recently discovered the Easter Scene mode on the new Govee Ground Lights 2. It’s so much fun to see the vibrant colors light up my space during the holidays. It really brings a sense of joy and warmth to the home, especially during special occasions. I can’t wait to try out more of their color options for future celebrations!
On another note, I’ve been diving into the world of MQTT with my Home Assistant setup. I’ve been using the Mosquitto MQTT broker, which gives me more control compared to the internal broker. Setting it up with TLS on a WAN port and additional ports for LAN and LOCAL has been a great learning experience. I even published my configuration to GitHub and would love to hear if anyone finds it useful or has suggestions for improvement. My next goal is to streamline user creation and add a random user generator for easier credential management. It’s been a rewarding journey so far!
Smart home tech truly is a fascinating blend of creativity and functionality. I’d love to hear how others are utilizing their setups to make life more convenient and enjoyable. Happy experimenting everyone! ![]()
