Echo Hub Device Support and Integration Challenges

Hey everyone! I’m diving into the world of smart home integration and have a few questions about device compatibility and troubleshooting. I recently set up an Echo Hub and am excited about its potential to connect with a wide range of devices, but I want to make sure I’m making the right choices before diving in.

First, I’m curious about the Echo Hub’s support for Insteon devices and the Universal Devices ISY-994. I’ve heard that the Echo Hub is planned to support over 140,000 devices, but I’m wondering if there’s a comprehensive list available. If anyone has experience with integrating these specific devices, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have!

Another area I’m exploring is the integration of Z-Wave devices. I came across the Zemismart Z-Wave curtain motor and am interested in using it with the HE C-7 hub. However, I’ve encountered some issues where the device isn’t responding as expected. The motor works perfectly with the included RF remote, but when I try to control it through the hub, I don’t get any feedback or movement. I’ve included the device manually using the triple-click method, and the logs show it’s recognized, but the commands don’t seem to take effect. Has anyone else faced similar issues or have suggestions on how to resolve this?

Additionally, I’m looking into text-to-speech (TTS) functionality with my smart speakers. I have two Google Mini speakers and a Lenovo Smart Screen, all integrated with Google Assistant. I set up a simple rule using the Rule Machine to send an audio notification, but none of the speakers are playing the notification. I’ve checked the event details, and it seems the command is being called, but there’s no audio output. I’ve also tried changing the default TTS voice settings, but the issue persists. If anyone has successfully implemented TTS notifications or has encountered and resolved similar issues, I’d be grateful for your insights!

Lastly, I’m interested in setting up a distributed gateway for my sensors. I have a few sensors that I’d like to integrate, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure them properly. Any guidance or resources on creating and managing a distributed gateway would be incredibly helpful.

I’m really excited about the possibilities of smart home automation and am eager to overcome these hurdles. Your experiences, tips, and advice would be invaluable as I continue to build and refine my system. Thanks in advance for your help!
