I’ve been using the Echo Show 10 for a while now, and while it’s an incredible device, there’s one feature that’s been bugging me: the lack of a screen lock. After so many updates and improvements, it’s surprising that such a fundamental security measure hasn’t been implemented yet.
Imagine this: I have the Echo Show 10 in a shared living area. It’s fantastic for checking the news, setting timers, or even streaming music. However, with no screen lock, it’s all too easy for kids or guests to accidentally (or intentionally) change settings, browse through content, or even make purchases. It’s a privacy and security concern that I hadn’t anticipated when I first set it up.
I understand that voice authentication adds a layer of security, but it’s not foolproof, especially in a busy household. A simple screen lock would offer an extra layer of protection and peace of mind. It’s such a common feature on smartphones and tablets, so why not on smart displays?
I’m hopeful that Amazon will address this in future updates. In the meantime, I’m curious if others have found workarounds or if they share the same concerns. Let’s hear your thoughts!
