Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with managing notifications across my Echo devices. I have an Echo Show in the living room and an Echo Dot in the bedroom. Initially, I was frustrated because all notifications were going to the Dot, which is annoying with its green/yellow light. I wanted notifications like delivery alerts to only go to the Show, which has a screen. After some digging, I found that it’s possible to control notifications by adjusting settings in the Alexa app. Here’s how I did it:
- Identify the Devices: Go to the Alexa app and navigate to the devices section. Locate both your Echo Show and Echo Dot.
- Adjust Notifications: Under each device, you can customize which notifications go where. I turned off shopping and delivery notifications on the Dot and made sure they were enabled on the Show.
- Test the Setup: I placed an order to test if the notification would only appear on the Show. It worked perfectly!
This setup has been a lifesaver. The Dot is now only used for essential notifications like the Ring doorbell, and the Show handles everything else. It’s much less disruptive now!
