Hi everyone,
I’ve been experimenting with integrating my Eclipse USV, Synology NAS, and Intel NUC running HomeAssistant on Proxmox. While the power supply setup was straightforward—plugging both the NAS and NUC into the USV—the network configuration has been a bit of a puzzle for me. I wanted to share my journey and see if others have faced similar challenges or have tips to share.
Initially, I wasn’t sure whether to connect the network cables directly from the NUC to the NAS or through the USV. I reached out to the community for advice, and the responses were incredibly helpful. Some suggested that connecting the NAS and NUC directly to the USV ensures a stable power supply, while others mentioned the benefits of having the network cables pass through the USV for redundancy and better power management. I’m still exploring the best setup, but it’s great to know there are multiple approaches.
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of proper cabling and ensuring that all devices are on the same network. I also discovered that using a managed switch can provide better control and monitoring, especially when dealing with multiple devices. If anyone has experience with this or has any additional tips, I’d love to hear them!
This project has been a fantastic learning experience, and I’m excited to see how it evolves. Thanks to everyone who has contributed advice and shared their knowledge—I truly appreciate it!
Best regards,
Tom
