I recently installed the Ecobee Door and Window SmartSensor and I must say, it’s been a game-changer for my smart home setup!

The sensor also integrates seamlessly with Ecobee Haven, grouping notifications with video footage from my smart camera, which adds a whole new layer of context and security. 
One thing I noticed is that while the sensor is active when I’m away, it smartly turns off motion detection when I’m home to avoid unnecessary alerts. That’s a thoughtful feature that prevents notification overload.
The dimensions are compact too—measuring 60mm x 29mm x 21mm for the sensor base and 33mm x 16mm x 12mm for the magnet. They’re unobtrusive and blend well with my home decor.
