I just received an email from Ecobee about the rollout of the 4.2.0.171 firmware update, and I’m thrilled to see Echo Spatial Perception (ESP) finally coming to the ecobee4! For a while now, I’ve been frustrated with my bedroom thermostat responding when I’m talking to another Alexa device in the house. It’s such a relief to know that this update will ensure only the closest device responds to my commands.
The email mentioned that ESP works seamlessly with multiple Alexa devices, which is perfect for my setup. I can’t wait to update my ecobee4 and test this feature out. It’s great to see Ecobee listening to user feedback and making improvements that really enhance the smart home experience.
