Efficient Automation with KNX Devices

As a homeowner who’s deeply into smart home automation, I’ve always been fascinated by how KNX devices can seamlessly integrate into a cohesive system. I recently set up an automation rule to control my heating system, and it’s been working wonders! The rule monitors the status of my heating and adjusts the modulation level accordingly. It’s a simple yet effective setup that ensures my boiler runs efficiently without any manual intervention.

However, I stumbled upon an interesting challenge while trying to extend this automation to include my hot water system. The boiler only has one KNX variable for gas flame presence, which means I need to calculate separate dummy variables for heating and hot water modulation. This requires some clever scripting, but I’m excited to dive into it!

For anyone else looking to integrate KNX devices into their smart home setup, I highly recommend starting with a clear plan and thoroughly testing each component. The community here has been incredibly helpful, and I’m eager to share my progress as I refine this system further.
