Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into optimizing my energy usage, and I thought I’d share my journey and some insights. I recently discovered a way to pull energy data from my retailer in half-hour increments, which is fantastic for detailed analysis. However, the data is typically 24 hours old, which is still useful for my needs.
The challenge I’m facing is integrating this historical data into Home Assistant (HA). From what I understand, HA’s sensor platform is designed for live data, so backfilling historical data isn’t straightforward. I’m planning to use a Python script to pull the data and then update a sensor object in HA. If anyone has experience with this or can offer tips on how to structure the script or pass the data historically, I’d be grateful!
On a different note, I’ve been exploring Govee’s fluorescent bulbs and would love to see more color variations in their lineup. It’s all about creating the perfect ambiance, right?
Another topic I’m curious about is the integration of multiple brands in a single smart home setup. Has anyone successfully combined Govee lights with other devices like Shelly switches or Zoneminder cameras? I’d love to hear about your setups and any tips for seamless integration.
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with motion detection to control lights, but I’ve run into a loop where turning off the light after motion is detected causes the camera to pick up the change and trigger the light again. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m determined to crack it! Any suggestions or similar experiences would be appreciated.
