Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on automating my pool pump using a smart plug. I’ve got a HM IP smart plug connected to my pool pump, which also has a small solar heater. The goal is to have the plug turn the pump on and off every 5 minutes. I’ve tried setting this up through the app, but creating automations for several hours feels quite cumbersome.
I came across the option to use a random time component, like scheduling it to turn on at 10 AM with a random delay of up to an hour. But I’m not entirely sure how this works. Does it mean the plug could turn on anywhere between 10 AM and 11 AM? I’d love to understand this better to set it up properly.
If anyone has experience with this or knows a more efficient way to achieve consistent 5-minute cycles, I’d really appreciate the help! It would be great to get this sorted so my pool stays maintained without manual intervention. Thanks in advance for any tips or insights!
