Efficient Smart Lighting Setup with Shelly and Motion Sensors

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a smart lighting system using Shelly 1PM Gen4 and an Easylux motion sensor. The goal was to create an automated outdoor lighting system that turns on when motion is detected and stays on long enough for me to complete tasks like cleaning the yard, even if I’m not in the sensor’s range.

Initially, I faced a challenge because the Shelly didn’t have a direct setting for a long-lasting ‘dauerlicht’ (constant light) mode. After some research, I discovered that holding the switch for more than three seconds could trigger this mode. However, this feature wasn’t clearly documented in my device’s settings.

Here’s how I made it work: I programmed the Shelly to switch to constant light mode when the switch is held for over three seconds. This setup has been a lifesaver for those late-night tasks! I’d love to hear if others have found similar workarounds or have additional tips for optimizing smart lighting systems.

Additionally, I’d like to ask the community if there are any other devices or configurations that could enhance this setup, especially for those looking to integrate motion sensors with smart switches. Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
