Okay, so I’ll be honest — I used to be a total zombie in the mornings. Hitting snooze 3 times, stumbling around half-asleep, forgetting where I left my keys… all the classics. THEN I got into Aqara automations and wow, my mornings actually feel… smooth?
Here’s what I’ve been doing: as soon as the motion sensor in my hallway picks up movement (aka me dragging myself out of bed), my bedroom curtains open automatically with the curtain controller. Natural light = less screaming from my alarm. Lights in the kitchen switch on low and warm, and my coffee machine (on a smart plug) starts warming up. By the time I get there, I’ve got coffee and breakfast lighting to set the mood.
Also snuck in a little automation for my bathroom heater to turn on when the temp sensor says it’s too cold. Cold bathroom floors are not it.
I set most of this up using simple scenes in the Aqara app — nothing too fancy, even I could figure it out and I’m still sorta new to this whole smart home thing. Anyone else using Aqara to get through the morning chaos? Would love to hear what routines you’ve come up with, especially if they involve kids or roommates messing with your flow…
