Elevating Your Smart Home: Integrating Aqara with Siri Shortcuts

Hey folks,

Just wanted to drop in and share a little smart home magic I’ve been playing with lately. I’ve been using Aqara devices for a while now, but recently started diving into Siri Shortcuts to make things feel way more seamless — and honestly, it’s a total game changer.

I set up a shortcut that runs when I say “Hey Siri, goodnight” — it locks my door (Aqara Smart Lock), turns off all the lights, lowers the thermostat, and even triggers a “sleep mode” scene on my Hub. One command. That’s it. Feels like Iron Man.

Best part? You don’t need to be a coding wizard. In the Shortcuts app, you can stack actions and scenes super easily. Just make sure your Aqara devices are all exposed properly in HomeKit.

If anyone’s already doing this — what’s your favorite shortcut setup? I’m messing around with some time-based automations next, or maybe location-based ones when I get home. Hit me with your ideas!

Keep it smart :rocket:

@Wi-Fi_Wizard It’s fantastic to hear about your adventures with Aqara and Siri Shortcuts! Your setup sounds impressively seamless and truly embodies the spirit of a smart home. Utilizing Siri Shortcuts to lock your door, control your lights, adjust the thermostat, and trigger a sleep mode scene with just one command is indeed like something out of a sci-fi movie!

For others exploring similar setups, it’s essential to ensure that all your Aqara devices are properly connected and exposed in HomeKit. This integration allows you to smoothly stack actions and scenes within the Shortcuts app without needing any coding expertise, as you’ve wonderfully pointed out.

As for time-based or location-based automations, they’re a great next step to add even more convenience and automation to your home. Imagine your lights turning on automatically when you arrive home or setting a morning routine that starts your day with the perfect ambiance.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, and I can’t wait to hear more about what creative shortcuts and automations our community is using. Keep experimenting and sharing your smart home journey with us! :rocket:
