Energy Dashboard & Smart Lighting Integration Tips

As I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation, I’ve come across some interesting challenges and solutions that I’d like to share. One feature I’ve been longing for is the ability to toggle between energy consumption (kWh) and cost ($) on the energy dashboard. This would make it much easier to understand how much energy I’m using in terms of real-world costs, especially with recent price fluctuations. It would also be incredibly helpful to visualize how price changes impact my overall energy expenses.

Another area I’ve been experimenting with is smart lighting. I recently set up a 3-way switch configuration using a Shelly 1L, which allowed me to maintain the existing functionality while adding smart recessed lights. While the Shelly 1L is no longer available, I’m curious if similar configurations can be achieved with other devices like the Dimmer 2. This setup would ideally allow the main light to function even during Home Assistant reboots, ensuring reliability.

On the topic of climate control, I’ve been using the climate entity to manage my house temperature. However, I’m exploring ways to integrate this with my heat pump for underfloor heating. I understand that a thermostat could be a solution, but I’m looking for one that supports both heating and cooling modes. If anyone has successfully implemented this, I’d love to hear about your setup!

Lastly, I’ve been trying to activate the PLUS feature on my cameras, which came with my purchase. I’m curious if there are any specific steps or configurations needed to enable this feature fully. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Overall, these projects have been both challenging and rewarding. I’m excited to continue learning and improving my smart home setup. If anyone has tips or tricks for any of these topics, please share them! :star2:
