Hi everyone, I’ve been working on setting up my energy dashboard and wanted to share my setup for feedback. I’ve installed a Hichi energy meter on my utility meter and a Shelly 3EM on my heat pump. To avoid double-counting energy usage, I created two templates. I’m curious if this approach is correct or if there’s a better way to structure them. Here’s what I’ve done:
Template 1: Main Energy Consumption
- Sensor Name: Home Energy Usage
- Description: Tracks total energy consumed by the household excluding the heat pump.
- Calculation: Total utility meter reading minus the heat pump’s energy consumption.
Template 2: Heat Pump Usage
- Sensor Name: Heat Pump Energy
- Description: Monitors energy used specifically by the heat pump.
- Calculation: Sum of energy readings from all three channels of the Shelly 3EM connected to the heat pump.
I’m wondering if there are any potential issues with this setup or if there are optimizations I can make. For instance, is there a more efficient way to calculate the main energy consumption without subtracting the heat pump’s usage? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
