Enhancement request: enable 90 degree video rotation

I have only had the new G5 Pro camera for a little over a month and I LOVE its features (Apple Secure Home Video support, PoE, High resolution, -22 deg F low operating temp, great low light vision, fast response, great detection options, great configurability). However, the current Aqara app only allows one to flip the G5 Pro video screen upside down for a ceiling mount application.

UNMET NEED: I need an additional option to rotate the video screen 90 degrees for a long narrow portion of my side property.

AREA DETAIL WISHING TO MONITOR:
I have approximately 7 feet of property of both sides of my house. One side has a sidewalk, side entry door and a covered overhang from the rain/snow. I wish to add 2 PoE Apple HomeKit cameras mounted at the opposite ends of the covered overhang with video screens rotated 90 degrees to match the long narrow side yard area.

In the currently available video screen orientations, most of the video recording would be wasted on my house wall or my neighbor’s property (required to block for their privacy). By enabling the app & camera’s software to rotate 90 degrees, I can greatly improve the visibility of this side entry area for security monitoring and trigger me to purchase more aqara cameras.

@roberts17 You seem to be experiencing an issue with the lack of a 90-degree video rotation option for the G5 Pro camera. Currently, the Aqara Home app supports vertical flip adjustment for the G5 Pro to correct the image, which is applicable to ceiling mount scenarios . However, there is no mention of 90-degree rotation functionality in the available information.

  1. I have informed in other posts about a solution that can physically achieve 90 ° image flipping, which is the G5 Pro with a new bracket that has been launched on the market. Please refer to the content of the post: Leakage in advance! New bracket for G5 Pro - #19 by haseown

Considering that most users may not be able to upgrade to the above bracket form in a timely manner, I will arrange for the R&D department to consider the possibility of supporting software flipping 90 degrees. The implementation of this feature may significantly increase hardware resource consumption (CPU and DDR), and I cannot confirm whether it will ultimately receive support (after flipping, special requirements will need to be made for accessing HomeKit and AI recognition)
