As a new homeowner, I’ve recently installed a set of security cameras to keep an eye on my property. While I’m thrilled with the overall performance, I’ve noticed a few quirks with the motion detection settings that I’d like to address and share my findings with the community.
One thing I’ve observed is that the motion detection feature tends to start recording a bit too early. For instance, in the clips I’ve reviewed, about two-thirds of the footage shows nothing happening, and the actual movement is only captured in the last third. While I appreciate the buffer of a few seconds before the action, I’d love to see more of the movement itself. Maybe adjusting the pre-recording time to 3 seconds and extending the recording duration could help.
Another aspect I’d like to tweak is the cool-down period after motion is detected. Ideally, I’d like the camera to capture multiple clips during a prolonged period of activity, such as a break-in. This would provide a clearer picture of what’s happening and improve security monitoring.
I’d also like to hear from others who’ve experimented with different card capacities. The officially supported limit is 32GB, but I’m curious if anyone has successfully used a 64GB card without issues.
Overall, I’m really happy with my camera setup, and I’m eager to see how these adjustments can further enhance its functionality. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing motion detection, please share them below! ![]()
