As a musician and a tech enthusiast, I’ve always been fascinated by the potential of smart home technology to enhance my performances. I’ve been experimenting with creating a dynamic light show that complements my music, and I’d love to share my experiences and gather some ideas from the community!
I currently perform as a solo artist in Kansas City, and I play piano, harmonica, and sing. My goal is to create a light show that truly stands out and immerses the audience in the music. For example, when I perform Bruno Mars’ Talking to the Moon, I’ve set up a few Moon-themed scenes to match the song’s mood. I’ve also added a floor lamp to create some ambiance, and I’m open to any suggestions on how to improve this setup.
I’ve been using Govee lights exclusively because of their reliability and compatibility with my existing smart home ecosystem. However, I’m curious to know if others have successfully integrated multiple brands or found creative ways to synchronize their lights with music. Have any of you experimented with timed routines or sensors to make the lighting more dynamic?
Another thing I’ve been thinking about is using smart lighting to create mood transitions during performances. For instance, dimming the lights to create a more intimate atmosphere during slower songs or brightening them up for energetic tracks. I’d love to hear how others have approached similar challenges!
If anyone has tips on optimizing the setup for live performances or recommendations on specific devices that work exceptionally well for this purpose, I’d be grateful for the insights. Let’s collaborate to make live music even more captivating with the help of smart technology!
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and ideas. Cheers! ![]()
