I recently embarked on a project to enhance the comfort of my home by integrating smart thermostats and vents. My journey began with the Ecobee 3, which has been functioning perfectly, but I wanted more granular control over each room’s temperature. The idea was to install Keen smart vents alongside dedicated room thermostats, allowing me to set different temperatures for different areas, such as keeping the basement warmer than the master bedroom during summer. This setup not only promises energy savings but also ensures each space is optimally comfortable.After some research, I found that the Keen smart vents can be controlled via SmartThings based on the temperatures set by the room thermostats. However, finding the right room thermostat that acts as a simple temperature sensor with a display and buttons was challenging.
