Enhancing Home Security with Motion Sensors and Automation

I’ve been diving into the world of home automation to enhance my home’s security, and I wanted to share my experiences and insights. One of the key components I’ve been working with is the Aeon Multisensor gen 5, which I’ve paired with PLEG to create a smart lighting system in my garage. The goal was to have the lights turn on when motion is detected and turn off after a period of inactivity. While the lights do activate when motion is detected, I’ve encountered some challenges with the system reliably turning the lights off when motion stops. I’ve found that adjusting the sensitivity settings and ensuring the sensor is positioned correctly has made a significant difference. I’m also exploring the use of delayed actions in PLEG to give the system a bit more time to confirm the absence of motion before turning off the lights. This setup has not only improved security but has also added a layer of convenience. I’d love to hear how others have optimized their motion sensor setups and any tips for improving reliability!
