Enhancing Home Security with PGST and Smart Automation

Recently, I decided to upgrade my home security system by integrating the PGST PG108 Security Console into my smart home setup. After retiring an older, non-HA supported system, I was pleasantly surprised by how seamlessly this new console worked with my existing 433MHz sensors—door/window, motion, smoke, and FOBS. The integration process, though a bit technical, was manageable with the help of the Tuya Local integration and some research.

Here’s a quick rundown of my setup:

  • Hardware: PG108 Console with two FOBS, one door/window sensor, and one motion sensor—all purchased for under $50 on Amazon.
  • Integration: After installing the Tuya Smart App, I connected the console to my local network. Using Tuya Local, I was able to recognize the PG108 and integrate it into my HA system.

The real magic happened when I created an automation to trigger lights and an external siren during an alarm. This involved setting up an automation with the alarm trigger event from Tuya Local. The process was a bit tricky at first, but once everything was configured, it worked like a charm!

For anyone looking to enhance their security system without breaking the bank, I highly recommend the PGST PG108. It’s reliable, affordable, and fully compatible with smart home integrations. Plus, the satisfaction of a well-secured home is priceless!
