This led me to suggest a feature where the camera automatically switches to event-only recording during power loss. I’m hopeful that the manufacturer will consider this enhancement in future updates.
For those looking to integrate older devices into their smart home setup, I’ve heard great things about the D-Link DCS-950. While it’s a bit of a challenge to set up, especially with the ‘curl timeout’ issue, persistence pays off. Ensuring the camera has a stable IP address and checking firewall settings can make a significant difference. It’s rewarding to breathe new life into older hardware!
Lastly, I’d like to touch on the importance of regular maintenance and updates. I’ve noticed that keeping firmware and apps up to date not only improves performance but also enhances security. A quick reset or factory restore can sometimes resolve persistent issues, as seen with my Fibaro door sensor, which had a constantly flashing light.
