Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent project of integrating my Nest Hub and Nest Audio speakers to create a seamless home theater experience. It’s been a fun journey, and I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar setups!
The Goal
I’ve been using my Nest Audio speakers as a stereo pair for my TV sound, but I always wondered if I could incorporate the Nest Hub for a more immersive experience. The idea was to have the Nest Hub act as a central hub for audio controls while maintaining the stereo functionality of the Nest Audio speakers.
Challenges and Solutions
Initially, I wasn’t sure if the Nest Hub could work alongside the Nest Audio speakers without any issues. After some research, I found that using a Bluetooth splitter or Chromecast Audio might be the way to go. However, I decided to stick with the built-in Chromecast functionality on my Android TV since it’s reliable and straightforward.
Here’s what I did:
- Paired the Nest Audio speakers as a stereo pair through the Google Home app.
- Connected the Nest Hub to the same network and ensured it was recognized by the Google Home app.
- Used the Android TV’s Chromecast feature to send audio to both the Nest Hub and the Nest Audio speakers simultaneously.
Results
The setup works beautifully! The Nest Hub now serves as a centralized control point for volume adjustments, while the Nest Audio speakers handle the stereo sound. It’s amazing how immersive the audio experience has become!
