Enhancing Lovelace Layout with Centered, Fixed-Width Cards

Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’ve been exploring ways to optimize my Lovelace dashboard for better visual appeal and usability. One feature I’ve been thinking about is the ability to have centered, fixed-width cards within full-width sections. Currently, full-width sections automatically stretch to fill the screen, which can make it challenging to create a balanced layout, especially on smaller screens.

Imagine being able to define a card’s width, say 4 blocks, and have it neatly centered within an 8-block section. This would allow for a cleaner, more organized look. For example, a 4-block-wide card could start at any position within the 8-block section, enabling custom alignments like left, right, or centered. This flexibility would be particularly useful for users who prefer a more tailored and aesthetically pleasing layout.

Another idea is adding a slider or positioning control for each card’s starting position within a section. This would let cards begin at any point, rather than always defaulting to the leftmost position. This feature would offer significant flexibility in layout design, allowing users to tailor their dashboards more precisely to their preferences.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this proposal. Have you encountered similar challenges with layout design? Would these features enhance your Lovelace experience? Let’s discuss and perhaps inspire some future enhancements! :star2:
