Hi everyone, I wanted to share my journey in enhancing my smart home setup with custom automations. 
I’ve been using a mix of devices from different brands, and while each works well on its own, integrating them into a seamless system has been both exciting and challenging.
One of my favorite projects has been setting up a sunset DIY scene. 
I’ve managed to create a wave effect that transitions through colors, giving my living room a warm and calming ambiance as the day winds down. It’s been a great way to unwind after a busy day!
I’ve also been experimenting with automating my Christmas lights. 
At my part-time job, I set up a system that changes colors based on the time of day, which really draws attention to the saltwater aquarium. It’s been a fun way to showcase technology in a creative setting.
However, I’ve encountered a few hiccups along the way. For instance, I tried integrating my Sonos S1 with Apple Music playlists, but the custom images for the playlists kept disappearing in Home Assistant. 
After some troubleshooting, I found that re-adding the playlists temporarily fixed the issue, but it’s something I’m still looking to resolve permanently.
Another area I’ve been exploring is the use of music sync for lighting effects. I’ve tied specific songs to certain light patterns, creating a dynamic atmosphere during gatherings. It’s been a hit with friends and family!
