I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey!
One of the standout products I’ve come across is the Govee RGBIC strip lights—they truly brighten up my space with their vibrant colors and smooth transitions. I’ve been using them for over a year now, and they’ve added so much personality to my home. ![]()
Recently, I decided to take my setup to the next level by integrating some motion sensors in my garage. The idea was to have the lights turn on automatically when I walk in, and off when I leave. I initially set up a single motion sensor, and it worked like a charm. But then I wanted to add a second sensor for better coverage. I was a bit puzzled when I couldn’t find an option to add the second sensor to the same rule. After some research, I discovered that creating a duplicate rule was the way to go, and it worked perfectly! ![]()
Another exciting addition to my setup has been exploring the Govee Music Sync Box H1162. It’s amazing how it syncs with my music, creating a dynamic light show that matches the beat. I’m really hoping Govee will introduce more music modes in future updates, as I’ve heard they’re in the works. Fingers crossed! ![]()
For those of you looking to get started with automation, I’d recommend starting small. Maybe begin with a simple rule like turning on lights when motion is detected, and gradually build from there. It’s also worth checking out the Home Assistant community for some fantastic automation templates and ideas. ![]()
