I’ve been a happy user of Blink cameras for quite some time now, and I must say, they’ve added a significant layer of security and peace of mind to my home. The video quality, ease of setup, and integration with my smart home ecosystem have all been top-notch. However, there’s one feature that I’ve been hoping to see improved: the notification customization, especially when it comes to scheduling prolonged mute periods for specific cameras.
Currently, I rely on the app to notify me of any motion detected by my Blink cameras. While this is incredibly useful, there are times when I’d like to mute notifications for extended periods without having to reset the timer every 24 hours. For instance, during family gatherings or when I’m away for an extended period, constant notifications can become overwhelming and distracting.
I’ve noticed that some of my competitors in the smart home space already offer this functionality, allowing users to set custom mute periods that last for days or even weeks. This feature would be a game-changer for me, as it would provide more flexibility in managing my security alerts without the hassle of frequent resets.
I’d love to hear from the Blink team if there are any plans to expand the notification customization options in the future. In the meantime, I’d be more than happy to provide feedback or participate in any beta testing for such a feature. Your competition has it, and I believe Blink has the potential to set a new standard in this area.
