As a homeowner exploring the capabilities of smart home technology, I’ve been captivated by the potential of AI-driven notifications to streamline my daily life. However, I’ve encountered a challenge with my Duo Cam Doorbell, which sends motion detection alerts even when no human activity is detected. This has led me to consider how we might refine notification settings to filter out non-AI events, ensuring that alerts are meaningful and actionable.
While exploring device settings, I discovered that the current configuration only allows notifications for all smart events, without an option to exclude standard events. This limitation is particularly frustrating, as it results in unnecessary alerts that can be easily overlooked or ignored. I’ve reached out to support, only to find that this feature isn’t currently available, despite having the Smart detection license.
I believe that allowing users to enable notifications exclusively for Smart Events would significantly enhance the user experience. It would reduce noise and ensure that alerts are only triggered by events that truly matter, such as human detection. This feature would be a valuable addition, making smart home technology even more integrated and responsive to our needs.
In the meantime, I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues or have found workarounds to manage notification settings more effectively. Sharing experiences and solutions could help us optimize our smart home setups and make the most of the technology available to us.
