Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I wanted to share my recent experience and thoughts on leveraging Wyze cameras for enhanced security, particularly focusing on location-based notifications.
I recently set up three Wyze cameras inside my home and plan to add two more outside. My goal is to receive notifications only when I’m away from home, except for certain cameras that I always want to monitor. This setup would be perfect for keeping an eye on my outdoor areas while avoiding alerts when I’m inside.
I’ve been exploring the app’s settings and was thrilled to discover the location tracking feature. It’s incredibly useful for determining whether I’m at home or away. However, I’d love to see an option to override this setting for specific cameras. For instance, my outdoor cameras should always send notifications, regardless of my location.
Another feature I’d find invaluable is a configurable quiet period after a notification. If my indoor camera alerts me about movement at 10:00 AM, I’d like the option to pause notifications for a set amount of time to avoid being overwhelmed with alerts during that period.
I’m curious if anyone else has implemented a similar system or has tips on optimizing Wyze cameras for location-based alerts. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
