Enhancing Security with Wyze Cameras: My Experience and Tips

I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and they’ve really added a layer of security to my home. However, I’ve encountered a few issues that I thought I’d share and discuss with the community.

One of the first things I noticed was that motion detection events were disappearing from the app after less than 24 hours. This was a bit concerning because I wanted to review events over a longer period. After some research, I found that upgrading to the Cam Plus subscription resolved this issue, allowing me to access events for up to 30 days. It’s a small inconvenience, but worth it for the peace of mind.

Another challenge I faced was downloading event videos directly to my phone. Initially, the option wasn’t appearing, even though notifications and sharing to other platforms worked fine. After checking permissions and ensuring the app was up to date, I discovered that clearing the app cache and reinstalling it fixed the problem. Now, I can easily download videos for review or sharing.

I’d love to hear from others who use Wyze cameras—have you encountered similar issues? How did you resolve them? Any additional tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Overall, I’m really satisfied with the Wyze cameras. Their integration with other smart home devices and the continuous updates from Wyze make them a reliable choice for home security. Keep up the great work, Wyze!
