As a homeowner who values both efficiency and comfort, I’ve been exploring ways to optimize my Plugwise thermostats. One feature that caught my attention is the ability to adjust the target temperature in 0.1°C increments. While this level of precision might be useful in certain scenarios, I’ve found that 0.5°C steps are more practical for everyday use. This adjustment not only simplifies temperature adjustments but also aligns with the functionality of the physical + and − buttons on the thermostats themselves, creating a more intuitive user experience.
I discovered a workaround by adding a custom configuration to the configuration.yaml file, which allows for a 0.5°C step size. However, I understand that this method isn’t the preferred approach, as it can potentially interfere with the state machine. This has led me to advocate for a more robust solution directly within the Plugwise integration.
If anyone has successfully implemented this workaround or has suggestions for a better approach, I’d love to hear your experiences! Let’s collaborate to make thermostat controls even more user-friendly and efficient. ![]()
