I recently came across an interesting challenge with my robotic vacuum cleaner. We have a plush area rug in our living room that sheds a lot of fibers, making it unsuitable for vacuuming. However, there’s a section beyond the rug that still needs cleaning. After some research, I discovered the virtual wall feature, which helps in creating boundaries for the vacuum.
While this solved part of the problem, I noticed that the vacuum still occasionally crosses the virtual wall, especially if it’s not properly aligned. To address this, I thought of enhancing the virtual wall functionality to include a ‘Do Not Vacuum, But Pass Through’ mode. This way, the vacuum can navigate around the rug without cleaning it.
I tried adjusting the virtual wall settings and even considered adding additional barriers, but nothing worked perfectly. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
