Enhancing Vivarium Monitoring with Smart Temperature Gauges

Hello everyone,

I recently set up a vivarium for my Red-Footed Tortoise and have been using a temperature and humidity sensor to monitor the environment. It’s been working well, but I’m looking to enhance the display to better reflect the tortoise’s specific needs throughout the day.

Currently, I have a basic gauge showing the temperature, but I want to display different temperature ranges for basking, ambient, and nighttime. The basking area needs to stay between 32-35°C, the ambient zone around 24-29°C, and nighttime temperatures should drop to 20-23°C.

I also dislike the current color scale as it’s too harsh. I’m wondering if there’s a way to create a more visually appealing gradient that smoothly transitions between these temperature ranges. Maybe something that gradually shifts from warm reds during the day to cooler blues at night?

Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup or has tips on how to design such a gauge? I’m open to any suggestions or resources that could help me achieve this.

Looking forward to hearing from the community!

Best regards,
Bret
