Hello everyone, I recently set up my Eufy motion sensors for my front door and backyard using HomeBase 2. While the notifications work perfectly, I was really hoping to get audible alerts like ‘Front Door Open’ or ‘Back Door Open’ without relying on Alexa or Google Home. I also have a chime that came with my Eufy video doorbell, so I thought maybe connecting the sensors to the chime instead of HomeBase could solve the issue. After some research and experimentation, I found a great solution!
First, I tried connecting the sensors directly to the chime. It worked! The chime now provides clear audible alerts whenever motion is detected. If you’re considering this setup, make sure your chime is compatible with the sensors. I also discovered that placing the sensors strategically can improve detection accuracy.
For those who prefer not to use a chime, another option is to integrate the sensors with a smart speaker or hub that supports audible alerts. This way, you can customize the notifications to suit your preferences. I found that using the Eufy app alongside HomeBase allowed for more flexibility in configuring alerts.
I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried similar setups or has tips for optimizing motion sensor performance. It’s amazing how these devices can enhance home security with just a bit of tweaking. Happy smart home hacking! ![]()
