I’d love to take part in the FP400 trial. I’m especially interested in testing the new Thread connectivity and seeing how reliable and responsive it is in everyday use.
I’m also curious how the FP400 performs compared with existing presence sensors, especially with multiple people in the room and different positions. I’d be happy to share my real-world experience and feedback with the Aqara community.

I would like to try it in a bedroom and detecting if one or more persons are in the bed or moving around, also in the main room if someone is sitting for proper lighting.
I would like to try out the new FP400, I have the FP2 (& the FP300). I use the FP2 for my partners desk downstairs, turns down the desk light she’s at so its better on her eyes. Had to fight some false positives, but would work so well because the fp400 can detect if someone is sat down.
Welcome — good to see the enthusiasm, and that’s a solid list of use cases. I’ve been running FP300s in 8 rooms of my house (office, game room, bar, kitchen, guest rooms, safe room) so I’ve got mileage with Aqara’s presence stuff even if not the FP400 itself yet.
One thing worth watching for once you get your unit: tune the Absence Delay Timer early. Mine were either too twitchy out of the box (lights cutting mid-use) or too slow (staying on long after I’d left) — took some per-room trial and error, especially in smaller spaces like a bathroom vs. an open living room.
If you’re on Home Assistant, pull the automation traces on your triggers once it’s set up. I did that with my FP300s and the sensor itself was firing in under 100ms every time — if something feels laggy, it’s almost never the hardware, it’s the automation layer. Good way to rule things out fast.
Curious whether the seated/posture detection actually holds up day to day — that’s the piece that’d be genuinely new for me.
