Hello everyone! I wanted to share an exciting automation setup I recently completed, and I’m eager to hear your tips and experiences as well. ![]()
My Experience
I’ve been working on automating my kitchen lights using motion sensors and Hue bulbs. The goal was to have the lights turn on bright during the day and dim at night, all while ensuring they shut off after a period of inactivity. After some trial and error, I managed to set it up using OpenHAB with a Fibaro motion sensor. It’s been working seamlessly, and it’s amazing how it enhances my daily routine!
What I Learned
I discovered the importance of testing different sensors and understanding their settings. For instance, adjusting the sensitivity of the motion sensor was crucial to avoid false triggers. I also learned how to use rules in OpenHAB to handle the automation logic, which was both challenging and rewarding.
Call to Action
I’m curious to know how others have tackled similar automation projects. Do you have any tips for optimizing motion sensor setups or ensuring consistent performance? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any innovative solutions you’ve come across!
