Hey everyone! I wanted to share something really exciting I’ve been working on. After spending quite a bit of time tinkering and testing, I’m thrilled to announce a new Home Assistant custom integration that allows you to control ceiling fans and lamps using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertising. This integration is designed to work seamlessly with popular Android phone apps like FanLamp Pro, Zhi Jia, and others, making it incredibly versatile for a wide range of smart lighting setups.
What’s really cool about this integration is that it doesn’t require any additional hardware like ESPHome components. Instead, it leverages the Bluetooth stack of your host system, which means it’s lightweight and easy to set up. The best part? You can discover and configure your devices directly through the Home Assistant UI, making the process as smooth as possible.
I’m currently looking for beta testers to help me iron out any bugs and gather feedback. If you’re interested and meet the requirements, please check out the GitHub repository here. Your input would be invaluable in making this integration even better!
For those who might be curious, I’ve also included a brief comparison with the ESPHome components I previously developed. This new integration offers a more streamlined experience, especially for those who prefer not to deal with additional hardware.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to share your thoughts, feel free to drop a comment below. I’m really excited to see how this integration can enhance everyone’s smart home setup!
Cheers,
