I’ve been diving into the world of smart home technology lately, and it’s been an absolute blast! Let me share some of my recent experiences and thoughts with you all.
First off, I recently won a set of Govee Glide Y Lights from a lucky capsule machine, and I must say, the speed at which they arrived was incredible—just about 24 hours after I won them! It’s amazing how quickly these products can be delivered. Now, I’m torn between installing them in my home office or living room, but I’m leaning towards the living room since it’s a central space where they’ll really stand out. Once I decide, I’ll make sure to share some pictures with you all!
On another note, I’ve been exploring the Aqara Smartlock U300 for my exterior gate. It’s been a bit of a puzzle figuring out how it integrates with my existing electric strike system, which is connected to an intercom. I’m hoping it can work independently without messing up the original setup. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear your insights!
Speaking of cameras, I’ve been having some issues with my Wyze cam V3. It keeps disconnecting after about 10-15 minutes, which is frustrating. I’ve updated it to the latest firmware, but the problem persists. I’m wondering if this is a common issue or if there’s a workaround I’m missing. In the meantime, my Wyze cam V2 is working perfectly, so I’m sticking with that for now.
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with utility meters and trying to track my solar panel efficiency. It’s a bit complex, but I’m determined to figure it out. I’ve set up a Shelly EM with two clamps and integrated it into my energy dashboard. The goal is to calculate daily, weekly, and monthly costs based on solar utilization and export tariffs. It’s a learning curve, but I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
If anyone has tips or advice on any of these topics, I’d be thrilled to hear from you! Let’s keep the smart home journey fun and enlightening for everyone!
