Hi everyone,
I’m really excited to share my experience with the new Matter integration beta! As someone who loves experimenting with smart home tech, I jumped at the chance to try this out. If you haven’t heard, Matter is the next big thing in smart home connectivity, promising seamless integration across devices from different brands.
I’ve been using the Hubitat Elevation C-8 hub, and it’s been a breeze to set up the beta integration. The interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to connect my existing devices and explore new possibilities. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in how my devices communicate with each other, especially when creating custom automations.
One feature I’m particularly impressed with is the ability to create cross-brand routines. For example, I can now set my Philips Hue lights to dim when my Sonos speaker starts playing music, even though they’re from different manufacturers. It’s like having a universal remote for my entire home!
However, there’s still room for improvement. I’ve encountered a few hiccups, like occasional delays in device responses, but I suspect that’s just part of the beta process. I’m hopeful these minor issues will be ironed out as the integration matures.
If you’re curious about trying out the Matter integration, I’d recommend checking out the beta group. It’s a great way to get hands-on with the latest technology and contribute to its development. Just make sure you have the Hubitat Elevation C-8 hub, as it’s currently the only supported model.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve had a chance to explore Matter. What devices have you connected? Have you created any cool automations? Let’s share our experiences and ideas!
Happy experimenting!
Best regards,
