I’m thrilled to share my experience with the latest addition to the Hubitat ecosystem—the ability to add Matter devices directly via Bluetooth using the Hubitat Mobile app!
This feature has been highly anticipated, and it’s fantastic to see it finally rolling out to beta users.
As someone who loves experimenting with new smart home technologies, I jumped at the chance to test this out. I installed the beta version of the Hubitat Mobile app on my iPhone and updated my Hubitat hub to the latest beta firmware. The setup process was smooth, and I was up and running in just a few minutes.
One of the most impressive aspects of this integration is the ease of setup. By scanning the QR code on a new Matter device, I could connect it to my hub without any additional configuration. This is a huge improvement over traditional pairing methods and makes expanding my smart home setup a breeze.
I also appreciate the cross-platform support. Whether you’re an iOS or Android user, you can now enjoy this feature seamlessly. It’s a testament to Hubitat’s commitment to providing a robust and user-friendly experience.
That said, I did encounter a minor hiccup when trying to connect a Thread Matter device. I had to manually configure it through the hub’s settings, but this was a known limitation and didn’t detract from the overall experience. Hubitat’s documentation was helpful in guiding me through the process.
This new integration opens up a world of possibilities for integrating Matter devices into my existing smart home setup. I’m excited to see how this technology evolves and what new devices will become available in the future.
If you’re a Hubitat user and haven’t tried out the Matter integration yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot. It’s a game-changer for anyone looking to expand their smart home ecosystem with cutting-edge technology. ![]()
