Starting my smart home journey has been both thrilling and a bit challenging. I recently set up several Amazon Fire TV sticks across my TVs, which I integrate with Hubitat for notifications and automation. It’s been a powerful setup, but I hit a snag when a new feature called ‘Auto-Offload’ started causing issues with my notifications. After some troubleshooting, I found that turning off this feature resolved the problem. It was a bit frustrating, but solving it made me appreciate the control we have over our devices despite cloud services.
I also tried setting up a group of four smart bulbs in my kitchen to act as a single light source. While I managed to pair them, controlling them uniformly is still a work in progress. If anyone has tips on grouping devices seamlessly, I’d love to hear them!
Overall, the journey has been rewarding. Each challenge solved brings me closer to my goal of a fully integrated smart home. I’m excited to tackle more projects and share my experiences along the way!
