I recently set up a smart lighting system in my home, and I must say, it’s been a game-changer! Using a combination of Zigbee and Z-Wave devices, I’ve managed to create a seamless lighting experience that adapts to my daily routines. The ability to control everything through my smartphone has made life so much easier. I especially love how the lights dim automatically as I wind down for the night. It’s these small touches that really make a home feel smart and comfortable. I also wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. Inspired by the community’s creativity, I decided to integrate my smart lights with a Bitcoin price monitor. Using Home Assistant, I created a simple script that flashes different colored lights based on the Bitcoin price changes. It’s a quirky way to stay updated without constantly checking my phone. I’ve shared the setup details in a pastebin if anyone’s interested in trying it out! On a lighter note, I recently attended a local Homematic Stammtisch meeting in Graz. It was fantastic to connect with fellow enthusiasts and exchange tips and tricks. The community’s passion and willingness to help each other really make these events worthwhile.
