Exciting Update: Zigbee Network Backup and Migration Now Possible with ConBee/RaspBee!

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share some fantastic news about the latest developments in the Zigbee ecosystem! The Zigpy team has been working hard on a feature that will make life much easier for those of us using ConBee or RaspBee adapters. They’ve introduced a cross-adapter network backup and restore functionality, which is a game-changer for Zigbee network management.

This new feature means we can now easily backup our Zigbee networks and migrate them to new adapters without the hassle of re-pairing all our devices. I stumbled upon this when I was exploring the Zigpy GitHub repository, and I couldn’t wait to dive deeper. The developers have been incredibly responsive to feature requests, which really shows their commitment to the community.

One thing I’m particularly impressed by is the Open ZigBee Coordinator Backup Format they’re using. This open-source approach ensures compatibility across different adapters and projects, including Zigbee2MQTT. It’s a breath of fresh air to see such collaboration in the smart home space!

For those of us who rely heavily on Zigbee devices, this update is a huge win. No more worrying about losing your carefully set up network when upgrading hardware. The ability to seamlessly migrate is a huge step forward.

I’m curious to hear how others feel about this update. Have you encountered situations where backing up your Zigbee network would have been super helpful? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

A big shoutout to the Zigpy developers for their hard work and dedication. Keep it up! :rocket:
