Expanding Flic Button Functionality with Chronograph

I’ve been really impressed with the versatility of Flic buttons in my smart home setup. They’re perfect for controlling devices without waking the house with voice commands. However, I always felt limited by the three default actions: single click, double click, and hold. I had five actions set up, but I wanted to push the limits further to get more out of these buttons. Here’s how I unlocked three additional actions using the Chronograph app and Homey advanced flows. First, I installed the Chronograph app. It’s a fantastic tool for managing timers and automations. Then, I created an advanced flow to handle the timing and actions. The setup works like this: 1. When I double-click the Flic button, it checks if a 15-second timer is running. 2. If the timer isn’t running, it turns on a light at 10% brightness with a warm color. 3. If the timer is running, it increases the brightness to 100% with the brightest color. 4. If the timer has expired, it turns the light off entirely. To make this work seamlessly with the Flic button, I had to create a simple flow that triggers the advanced flow when the button is pressed. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it gets the job done! I then connected the Flic button to Homey through the Flic mini-hub. After a quick refresh, the new actions were recognized, and I was able to assign them to the button in the Flic app. This setup has been a game-changer for me. It allows me to control my lights in three distinct ways with just one button. If you’re looking to get more out of your Flic buttons, I highly recommend exploring theChronograph app and advanced flows.
