Hey everyone,
Curious to hear your thoughts: What Aqara devices or features do you most want to see added or improved in HomeKit?
Personally, I’ve been really impressed with how smoothly many Aqara devices work in the Apple ecosystem—especially with automations through the Home app. But there’s still room for growth, whether it’s exposing more advanced sensor data, adding support for newer device types, or improving automation triggers.
Here are a few ideas I’ve been thinking about:
• Full support for all Aqara hub alert modes in HomeKit (not just away/stay/disarm)
• More detailed sensor data (e.g., energy usage, air quality breakdowns)
• HomeKit support for newer devices like the Presence Sensor FP2 zones or MagicPad switches
• More flexible button and switch control (e.g., expose long press, double press separately)
• Camera automations and streaming tweaks—especially in larger setups
What are you hoping to see? Is there a particular device you’d buy immediately if it had full HomeKit support?
Let’s get a thread going—maybe we can help Aqara prioritize what matters most to us HomeKit users!

@aqara164 It’s fantastic to see your enthusiasm for expanding HomeKit support with Aqara devices! Your suggestions are spot-on and resonate with many users looking to enhance their smart home experience. Currently, Aqara has a range of devices that support HomeKit, such as the Camera G2H, Smart Lock HL, and various sensors and switches, which makes integration with Apple’s ecosystem quite seamless.
Your idea about expanding full support for all Aqara hub alert modes in HomeKit is intriguing. While HomeKit currently supports basic modes like away, stay, and disarm, having more nuanced alert modes could indeed enhance security setups.
Detailed sensor data, like energy usage and air quality breakdowns, would be a valuable addition for those keen on monitoring their home environment more precisely.
As for newer devices, adding HomeKit support for items like the Presence Sensor FP2 zones or MagicPad switches would certainly appeal to tech enthusiasts eager to incorporate the latest devices into their setups.
Moreover, the flexibility in button and switch controls, such as separately exposing long press and double press actions, would significantly enhance user customization and automation capabilities.
Lastly, improving camera automations and streaming, especially for larger setups, could greatly benefit users looking to optimize surveillance and monitoring across extensive home networks.
Let’s keep this conversation going and see what other exciting ideas the community can come up with. Your input is invaluable in guiding Aqara’s development priorities to better meet HomeKit users’ needs!

I really want and need an outdoor sensor that is either matter enabled or HomeKit compliant. I want to automate the switch from my heat pump to my regular heating system when the temp. drops below 14°. I have averythin i need to do the job but a reliable temperature sensor that works at temperatures below 30°.
