Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent project and experience with integrating Govee RGBIC strips into my garden setup. It’s been an exciting journey, and I hope my insights can help others looking to expand their smart lighting setups!
I recently completed building a large garden unit (10m x 4m) and installed several 5m strips of Govee RGBIC Dreamcolor LED strips (H6127). My goal was to create a dynamic lighting system that could be controlled in sections or as a whole. I’ve grouped these strips into multiple zones, allowing me to flick sections on and off or control different features across various areas. This setup has been fantastic for creating ambiance and adjusting the lighting to match different occasions.
However, there’s one feature I’ve been longing for: the ability to control a single super-long strip across multiple zones. Right now, my groups only allow the 2 strips to perform the same sequence simultaneously, whereas I’d love to see one sequence flow seamlessly across the entire 10m strip. Imagine being able to set a gradient or color transition that moves from one end of the garden to the other! It would add a whole new dimension to my lighting setup.
I’ve also been experimenting with grouping two sides of the garden together, creating a synchronized effect where both sides do the same thing at the same time. While I can get each 5m strip to sync almost perfectly, I’d love to have a more seamless integration where the entire length is treated as one cohesive unit. Does this sound achievable? I’d love to hear if anyone has tackled a similar project or has tips on how to implement this!
Another aspect I’ve been exploring is the use of custom scenes and automations. With the Govee app, I’ve been able to create preset modes that change the color and brightness based on the time of day or specific events. For example, a warm yellow hue in the evenings and a vibrant blue during the day. Pairing this with my existing smart home setup has allowed me to create a truly immersive experience.
I’d also love to hear if others have tips on optimizing the performance of these strips. I’ve noticed that sometimes the response time can be a bit laggy, especially when controlling multiple zones simultaneously. Have any of you experienced this, and if so, how did you resolve it?
Overall, I’m thrilled with how my garden lighting project has come together. The Govee RGBIC strips have been a fantastic addition, and I’m excited to continue exploring their capabilities. I can’t wait to see how this project evolves and what new features I can integrate in the future!
