Expanding the History Panel Filter in HA 2022.7

I recently came across the new feature in the History panel under HA 2022.7, and I must say, it’s a fantastic addition! The ability to filter through historical data makes tracking changes and debugging much more efficient. However, I have a suggestion that could take this feature to the next level: extending this functionality to the Developer Tools → States panel.

During my development workflow, I constantly switch between Automations, Scripts, Lovelace configurations, and the States panel. Having a robust filtering system in the States panel would save me a significant amount of time. Currently, scrolling through the list is tedious, and the existing filter only allows for a single entity selection, which is limiting, especially when dealing with complex integrations.

Imagine being able to filter by multiple entities or even areas of the house. This would streamline the process of identifying and troubleshooting issues. I believe this enhancement would greatly benefit both new and experienced users, making the development and debugging experience much smoother.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on how this could be implemented, I’d love to hear them! Let’s make Home Assistant even more powerful together.
