Expanding Zigbee Network and Temperature Sensor Automation

As I continue to explore the world of smart home automation, I’ve found that integrating multiple devices and systems can be both incredibly rewarding and occasionally challenging. One area I’ve been focusing on lately is expanding my Zigbee network to accommodate more devices, especially since I’ve added several Aquara sensors and other Zigbee-compatible gadgets.

I’ve heard that adding a Zigbee repeater or gateway can help extend the range and support more devices beyond the standard limit of 15. I’m curious to know which repeaters or extenders others have had success with. Some recommend using smart plugs that double as repeaters, which seems like a practical solution given their constant power supply.

Another project I’ve been working on is setting up a temperature sensor to control a heating lamp for our pets. The goal is to have the lamp turn on when the temperature drops below 22°C and motion is detected, and turn off when the temperature rises above 24°C or no motion is detected. I’ve been looking for a reliable temperature sensor that can provide frequent updates—ideally every 10-20 seconds—to ensure smooth automation. If anyone has recommendations or tips on achieving this, I’d love to hear them!

As I continue to tweak and expand my setup, I’m excited to see how these improvements will enhance my smart home experience. Whether it’s through better network coverage or more responsive automation, there’s always something new to discover and implement. I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar challenges or what innovative solutions they’ve come up with in their own setups.
