Experience with Apple Home

Hi All. Over the last 10 years I have moved twice (a 3rd coming up in the next 2 years), and so have built a smart home twice. I never buy new homes, preferring the masochistic approach of dragging old homes into the 21st century. My current home is a 1850 stone built in Cornwall (Fun drilling holes!), The one before was a wooden frame 1916 Bungalow in San Jose, California.

I write a blog on my experiences, and it goes into what I did and why. So, it is not a review site. I discuss things like what presence is better than motion detection, for example.

It’s also not just Aqara devices.

Just for @DEChrisE there are even some videos!

Thank you for sharing! It’s always fun/interesting to start a new smarthome. The challenges with retrofitting can be a pain but very rewarding in the end.

Thanks. It’s been fun writing it. However, as it now spans 10 years, keeping it up to date as technology and my ideas change can be a pain.
